Helping people with Learning Disabilities fight discrimination
Volunteers Needed! Advocacy can help vulnerable adults to have a say in the issues affecting their lives. It can also help disempowered people make sure that their opinion is recognised and valued. Dudley Advocacy offers independent support to people with Learning Disabilities. Our volunteer advocates can help with practical issues, such as writing letters, making phone calls, or finding out information. The aim of our citizen advocacy project is to work against prejudice and discrimination. Our advocates can make a real difference, because often people need a helping hand or a supportive figure. As well as the practical side, an advocate can be a reliable and trustworthy confidante.
We are always looking for volunteers, from all backgrounds, who can commit to the principles of Dudley Advocacy. As little as a few hours a week can make a huge difference to somebody elses life. We offer full training and all out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
