What will the score be in the next big game Dudley V Derby
|
By Mike Hooley
 | The Derby boys are really up for this game, the fourth encounter between the local rivals. Although the overall score is 3-0 to Dudley the last encounter was 4-2 which indicates the sides are getting closer. Dudley spokesman Stuart Turner says they have the strongest team they've ever had and I think Derby will too. We had a couple of players missing last time and since then we've had some new additions so it all adds up to be a decent contest.
So far this year we have played five 11-a-side matches, winning all of them, including a televised (highlights on Soccer AM) 2-1 victory over The Badgers, captained by Soccer AM presenter Tim Lovejoy. Our goal scorers that day were Richard Procter and Chris Roberts.
Our initial e-mail has gone out today (27/11/01) to the squad assessing availability for the match and the number of replies already coming through looks promising. The boys are up for it. Bryan "110% win those personal battles" Samuels is our Manager and organiser for the game and I believe is looking to hire a mini-bus to get us down to the venue.
Until then I'd lish to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year on behalf of the Derby Egg football team
