CROWN GREEN BOWLS ACTIVITIES

The Bowling Club was formed about 15 years ago mainly from bowlers from the Miners Arms PH at Stambermill

There are some 30 active members and teams play regularly from April to September in various local leagues viz: 2 teams in the Kingswinford and Brierley Hill Monday Bowling League; 2 teams in the Dudley and District Thursday Bowling League; 1 team in the Wolverhampton and South Staffs Saturday Bowling League and 1 team in the Lye and District Saturday Bowling League

In September 2001 the Club is running a Bass Brewers Open Singles Floodlit competition with total prize money of £580 with £220 to the winner
Entry fee is £3 - all enquiries to Derrick Bradley as above. Entries welcomed from male and female bowlers - no home bowlers allowed

The first Home match in the Monday League took place on April 2nd between the Club's 'A' & 'B' teams. It resulted in a win for the 'A' team by 153 shote to 116. Winners for the 'A' team were Steve Davies; Clive Cooper; Anthony Brettell; George Smith; David Bate & Chris Bennett. Geoff Brooks and Derek Brookes replied for the 'B' team
