The Baildon Art Club Mural
Our wonderful mural was started on a spare wall at the club's meeting place.
The artist, David Wilford, began this mammoth task at the beginning of 2001 and finished it just before Christmas. David, a painter and decorater by day and an incredible artist by night, was featured in the Telegraph & Argus for his commissioned work for Christmas Card company.
When asked if he had received any follow up from the feature, he replied that one woman had rung to ask if he could paint and decorate his house ...
David is quite a good artist, as you can see, BUT DON'T LET THIS PUT YOU OFF COMING ALONG TO THE ART CLUB!
The rest of us are, well, we fade in comparison but still take pride and enjoyment in what we do, regardless of medium.

The finished mural
David finished his marvellous mural at the end of November, 2001, nearly a year after he embarked on the project. His progress was reported in the Telegraph & Argus, written by fellow member Lorraine Behrens but - typically - cut by the subs!

NEW LOCATION - NOW NEW MEMBERS WANTED
We have moved to room 4 Kirkgate community centre Kirkgate in Shipley, We still meet every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm. There is lots more space there and better facilities so we are looking for new members.
The Evening is very informal so please come and give it a try you will be made most welcome.
