Bank Top FC
 | Bank Top achieved great success when they joined the Alliance as Nags 94 in the 1990’s. Nags suffered only one defeat as they won the division 4A title in 1994-95. A second promotion followed the next season when they were runners-up to Microvitec in division 3B. They completed a hat-trick by lifting the division 2B championship in 1996-97. The club’s rate of progress slowed in 1997-98 when they played in division 1A. Nags finished fourth but clinched silverware when they won the Intermediate Cup. The 1998-99 season gave them a truer reflection of what life in division 1A was all about. It proved very competitive, reflected by the fact Westwood took the title despite winning just 14 of their 22 matches. Nags battled hard and managed to finish in eighth place. The club changed their name to Bank Top and in their first season finished in third place. The title race was dominated by Eccleshill United who wrapped up the trophy by Christmas. Bank Top were edged out of a promotion place when Pudsey’s late run clinched them a place in the first division. The Horton Bank Top club were expected to give title favourites West Bowling a run for their money last season. Sadly, inconsistency spoilt their chances as Malta Court stole in to take the runners-up spot with Bank Top finishing fourth. This season they are again tipped to figure in the battle for promotion along with newly-promoted clubs Holme Wood and Shoulder of Mutton. |
