2004 reunion match
Boston Town 4, Boston Town Old Boys 4 Phil Scothorne, Carl Smaller and Dave Scotney rolled back the years as a galaxy of former stars took on the current crop of Poachers to mark the club's 40th anniversary. A strong 2004 line-up led 2-1 at half-time thanks to strikes by Danny Matson and Danny Warren, with a Neil Timby penalty replying for the old boys. After the interval, the older ex-players - many well into their 50s - took on a youthful current Boston Town and some wonderful flowing football ensued. Scotney netted twice, first with a delightful lob and then pouncing in the penalty area on a header by Shaughan Farrow. Carl Smaller celebrated extravagantly after rounding off a sumptuous move for the old boys. But the youngsters managed two more goals of their own, another one from Warren and a late equaliser by Nick Signer which ensured the spoils were shared.
