Bradford CHC Executive Decisions, August 23

At its meeting on August 23, Bradford CHC Executive agreed to make the following recommendations to the full council on September 12:

That the Drug and Alcohol Addiction Sub-Committee be reconstituted as the Access to Treatment Sub-Committee, and its remit widened to cover all forms of treatment. If approved by the CHC, the first meeting of the sub-committee will take place on September 18.

That where inadequate time is provided to respond to consultation requests by submitting them to members, the CHC should not comment.

That a Christmas party be held on December 12, to which all past and present CHC members and staff be invited.

It also approved the chair's recommendation that the CHC apply the funds already earmarked for community consultations on drugs services to sponsor a conference being organised by Powerhouse (part of the Newlands Partnership) in Thornbury on Saturday, September 15. But it rejected the chair's suggestion that the CHC also fund an attendance at the conference by Windy Oaks, who had asked for a fee of over £200. Instead, he was instructed to write to Con Egan at the NHS Community Health Trust (whom he is meeting on September 11) urging that this fee be waived.
