Companionship for older people living alone
Many older people who live alone can go for days without having anyone to talk to, particularly if they can't get out and about as they used to. This may result in loneliness and isolation and can have a negative affect on their overall health and well-being.
CarelinK Befriending Scheme aims to reduce loneliness and isolation by introducing older people living alone to one of its volunteer befrienders. Befrienders visit for an hour or so each week to have a chat, to take a short walk or perhaps to share a hobby or interest. All volunteer befrienders are police checked and vetted before any introductions take place.
