Visits to places of interest - Liverpool
During the summer months, classes are no longer held in Cleckheaton Town Hall, but some members continue to meet. One of the visits this year was to Liverpool to the famous Albert Dock which houses Liverpool Tate. Currently the Gustav Klimt exhibition is taking place, as are the Tall Ship competitors. The day was graced by a Royal visit by Princess Anne.

Skipton - Castle & Church
| Recently U3A members spent a day at Skipton where they visited its famous Castle which has been the guardian to the Yorkshire Dales for over 9OO years. Adjacent to the Castle is the Holy Trinity Church with its lovely stain glass windows. The busy Market Day was an added bonus. | |

Leeds City Varieties
| Members took a step back in time on a guided tour of this famous music hall in the centre of Leeds. Famed in the past for its TV series 'The Good Old Days', the theatre continues to entertain and is now fund raising for a major refurbishment. Many famous stars have played there and their autographed photographs decorate the historic circle bar. | |

Bradford's Industrial Museum
| A small group of members paid a visit to this old woollen mill which now contains potent reminders of Bradford's important industrial past. To the still lingering smell of wool fat and oil, visitors can view a large range of machinery connected both with the wool trade and Jowett car manufacture. There are also working shire horses and Bradford's last trolley bus and tram on display. | |
