The German language class has settled in quickly to the new sessions with both a new tutor and many members new to the U3A. The group's prior knowledge of the German language comes from a variety of sources and prior experience, so a variety of subjects are being covered, from basics such as time, directions and travel, to slightly more advanced topics such as verb structures, tenses, and word order. The class is entering into the spirit of things, with lively discussion and 'Homework' being completed quite enthusiastically ! |  |

Parlez-vous francais?
 | | The French Circle is for members who have some knowledge of French, perhaps from schooldays, and who wish to keep this alive and perhaps improve their fluency.It is a self-help class where everyone is expected to contribute. |

Parliamo italiano !
| A class for those with an interest in Italy, its language and its culture. The class supports one another in developing its knowledge of, and fluency in, the language; and also learns a little more of the Italian way of life. |  |

French for Beginners
| The class is now up and running with sessions covering topics useful to the tourist and based on the BBC course 'Talk French'. The pictures show the group engaged in role play ordering typically French food and drink in a cafe. |  |
