Welcome to the Idle Upper Chapel Website
The people who are part of this church community known as Idle Upper Chapel United Reformed Church are trying to make sense of life. Week by week we explore the teachings of Jesus and try to put them into practice – most of the time we fail but we keep our sense of humour and try again! We are not a narrowly religious or pious group but we do believe that the Gospel is an exciting adventure. We invite you to come and share the adventure with us. These words spoken by Mother Teresa of Calcutta express what we attempt to achieve in our living:
‘ Be kind and merciful, let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness, kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your warm greeting. To everybody give always a happy smile – give them not only your smile but give your heart!’
