Public Inquiry looms

There is to be a public inquiry during early January into the proposed tip at Denholme. Below is extracted snippets from Keighley FOE's letter to the Decision Maker.

The City of Bradford Unitary Development Plan 1998 states that no adverse impact on local environments, no adverse effects on occupants adjoining the land and no adverse effects on the free flow of safe traffic for the local people should be allowed by such developments (Policy W1, Policy GP2).

Examples of poor landfill sites (which the Environment Agency has continued to licence) locally have strengthened the campaign against another tip in the area. There is no evidence to suggest that Integrated Waste Management Ltd. would not behave in the same polluted manner.

The people of Denholme and the surrounding area clearly have made their voice heard on the matter No landfill site. This is the same message from Friends of the Earth. Please do not let the people and the environment down – say no.
