Community Development for LGB communities
LGBnet is a Community Development organisation run by and for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people in the Bradford area.
LGBnet has a worker and a development project that provides:
Practical support to LGB groups, organisations and individuals - information, a newsletter, advice on how to set up and run a community group, information on funding and training opportunities
Networking for LGB communities and for 'Mainstream' organisations wanting to work with LGB communities - a Groups' Forum, events, meeting space, consultation etc.
Advocacy for LGB equality and inclusion in the 'mainstream' e.g. in services like health, education, community safety etc. and in policy and decision making
LGBnet recognises that LGB people come from all communities and may experience many forms of discrimination - we work for the inclusion of all LGB people e.g. Black and Asian LGBs, Disabled LGBs, Parents or Older people
