Are you involved in LGB community activities?
Bradford LGB Network works to support and bring together LGB groups and projects for mutual support.
People who are LGB community activists and volunteers are central to LGB community life - running helplines and support groups; campaigning and working for LGB rights; and organising social activities and opportunities for people to meet.
The LGB Groups' Forum is a chance for people involved in community activity, and people who would like to be, to meet up.
We didn't want to ask people to another tiring meeting so we set up the Groups' Forum networking dinners.
The forum meets every two months for a sit down buffet dinner and chat. Sometimes the meetings have a theme [and possibly a guest speaker] where current LGB community issues can be discussed.
Otherwise they are more social, like the cocktail open evening held this summer.
Anyone involved in, or considering, work with an LGB community group is welcome to attend for free.
Physical access for disabled people is good and LGBnet will try to provide other specific support [like BSL interpretation or personal assistance].
