Staningley Celtic FC

Celtic began life as Priesthorpe Youth Club in 1993, an idea discussed casually one evening that developed into a lasting project!
Six of the original youth club members still play for what is essentially a tight-knit group. Priesthorpe joined the Sunday Afternoon League that season and finished third.
The following season was one of great success as the club achieved the League and Cup double in 1995, and successfully applied to join the Sunday Alliance.
They made their bow as Shamrock FC and finished mid-table in their first full season in this superbly organised association.
The second season was one of consolidation as some youth club members moved on and new players came in.
The club was promoted from division 4A to division 2A the following term, finishing third and reaching the semi-finals of both cups.
Since those heady days the club has been known as Bay Horse FC and, latterly, Oddy’s FC, always finishing in the top six, despite changes of manager and base.
Last season the club were fourth after a consistent campaign. Promotion may be a bridge too far, but strong ambitions remain and the club is looking forward with great anticipation to this season.
