The Royal British Legion is Britain's leading ex-Service charity protecting the interests, welfare and memory of British Service and Ex-Service personnel and their families and dependants since 1921. Some 10.1 million people - of all ages - are eligible to approach the Legion for support. All its work is funded through the Poppy Appeal and the donation of individuals, groups and businesses which support its aims. In 2008-9 the Poppy Appeal raised a record total of £30.1 million and the Legion aims to raise more in subsequent years. The Royal British Legion was formed in 1921 and was incorporated under Royal Charter in 1925. Registered as a Charity No. 219279. Her Majesty the Queen is the Royal Patron of the Royal British Legion. This website is intended to convey news of some of the activities of the Royal British Legion in Buckinghamshire. The Royal British Legion has 44 active branches and 16 clubs in Buckinghamshire with almost 8,000 members.
