Enjoy Singing? Come and join us! On 4th December 2006, at the inaugural concert of the new Performing Arts Theatre at Sir William Borlases Grammar School, Marlow, our Community Choir, directed by Conductor, Gillian Dibden, delivered a stunning performance of the Christmas music from Handel's Messiah complete with soloists, full chorus and orchestra. We followed this event with our summer concert on 20th June 2007 featuring the St Nicolas Mass by Haydn plus Monteverdi's Beatus Vir, his baroque setting of Psalm 112, composed in 1641. Our concert on 23rd January 2008, featured a truly brilliant performance of Haydn's Oratorio 'The Creation.'
Our summer concert, on 21st May 2008, concluded with the beautiful Requiem by John Rutter. After the Summer recess, we reconvened at our usual time of 7:30pm on 17th September 2008 at the Sir William Borlase's Grammar School, West Street, Marlow, SL7 2BR and prepared Britten's Saint Nicolas cantata, culminating with a performance of this great work at All Saints church, Boyn Hill Rd, Maidenhead on 31st January 2009.
Currently we are rehearsing Haydn's Nelson Mass for our annual summer concert on 20th May. For further details, click the link on the left hand panel labelled Projects for Autumn/Winter Season 2008/2009.
