AMERICAN SQUARE DANCING

AMERICAN SQUARE DANCING
So what's square about square dancing? Only the formation! We dance in sets of 8 people, forming a square.

Square dancers
need ears, arms and legs (presumably held together in some way) and two feet - even two left ones will do!
And a smile!
There is no need to remember lots of dance sequences. All you need is to join a local group who will teach the basic moves to get started.
The first two are
circle left and circle right, so we're sure you can already make a start! There is always a caller who will sing or call out the next move for you, and you are with another 7 people in the square who will help out.

Square dancing is suitable for all ages everyone is welcome, but children do have to be over 11 years old and come with their parents.

It's a great way to make friends and great fun to dance, so if you want to try it, we'd like to hear from you. The Allemanders American Square Dance Club meets at Alford Sports and Social Club, Manchester Road,
Warrington on Thursday evenings

New groups begin at arranged intervals, and experienced square dancers are always on hand to point you in the right direction.
