Having featured as the BBC's chosen Church for the Christmas Day service 2000, All Saint's is also renowned for its links with the author of Alice in Wonderland. Baptised Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, he is much better known by his pen-name Lewis Carroll. When he was born, his father was Vicar of Daresbury, and the family lived here until he was 11 years old. In the Chapel there is a memorial window featuring characters from the book. There has been a church at Daresbury since the 12th century, when the monks from Norton Priory built the church for the local villagers. The main body of the church was rebuilt in 1872 in Gothic style.
