Developing Your Faith

There are a number of things you can consider if you wish to develop your interest in spiritual issues or consolidate your faith.

Visit holy places – ancient churches, cathedrals, monasteries and the like

Join a ‘real’ church

Consider baptism or (if you were christened as a child) confirmation. Some traditions disapprove of infant baptism and belief that only fully consenting adults can be meaningfully baptised. While baptism in a real church is to be encouraged, there are a number of sites offering on-line baptism for those unable or unwilling to chose a traditional ceremony. One of these is www.alphachurch.org which also offers on-line services you can listen to, including Communion.

Enrol on a course - the Alpha Course offers one possible route for those seeking answers to difficult questions while the On-line Bible College offers a free certificate in Biblical Studies together with useful resources such as a searchable Bible

Read some books - these could be on doctrine or Church History or you may prefer to read about the lives of holy men and women who have been an example to us all

Consider ordination as a minister - the ULC offers instant, free on-line ordination in accordance with the Biblical teaching of the priesthood of all believers. You should only proceed with ordination if you see this as a genuine affirmation of belief; doing it for frivolous reasons is to be discouraged.

Support an appropriate charity - either by donations or by giving up your time. Bebington ULC supports the work of ‘Send a Cow’, a Christian charity which encourages sustainable agriculture in poor regions of Africa.

Free Literature

You can download or order some excellent free booklets from the link below. Some of the content may be contentious but they are an excellent resource.
