Getting started on Communigate

It can be a bit daunting, setting up your own website. Hopefully, Communigate makes it a lot less so.
Here are a few pointers for first timers:
Our Communigate service has been specially created as an easy-to-use system for clubs and societies to create their own pages on the web.
Absolutely no knowledge of computer programming is required to use Communigate.
Usually when I talk to people about it, I suggest that the easiest way for them to learn is to have a go themselves, but I’ll run through the basics with you now.
First you need to bring up the Communigate front page on your screen. You can either go directly there by clicking on this link http://www.communigate.co.uk/chesh , or you can click on the links on the front of your town’s "This Is" website.
Once there it’s just a matter of following the instructions on screen. Give yourself a name and a password, and then it’s really a matter of deciding what information goes on what page. Your website can be as big as you like, and you can also upload photographs from your computer onto the site (it’s easier than it sounds).
You can also change the colour and size of the text, and add bulletin boards, guest books and league tables. Best of all, you can update your site whenever you like.
All it will cost you is your normal outlay for surfing the web from your computer. Since Newsquest started this service I have not had a single complaint about Communigate, only positive feedback. The best way for you to see how simple it is to use is to give it a go yourself.
