Consortia
Cheshire and Warrington Voluntary Sector Learning Forum
…..And we will be looking to you for the answers!
As you already know (from the latest Forum minutes) we have submitted an Expression of Interest to the Learning & Skills Council (LSC) for Development Funding—to explore a range of options for the future development of the Forum (this will include the possibility of becoming a Learning Consortia).
I can tell you that I am now writing up the full proposal.
The idea is to consult widely with the Forum/Sector through the 7 District CVS to look at development options in relations to:
· Funding
· Quality standards,
· Direct provision of training—internally & externally
· Cooperation, information sharing & promoting good practice
· Strategic role / advocacy in policy development
· Developing training materials & resources
The consultation will also include our partners.
It is intended that a Steering Group of representatives from the Forum will work with the consultant to drive this piece of work—organisations will be reimbursed for their time. A number of individuals have already expressed an interest in this role.
Similarly, it is intended that the CVSs will receive payment to organise a consultation event in their district.
A final event will present the findings and recommendations to all interested parties.
We will ensure that the whole process will be a ‘learning opportunity’ for us all.
If all goes to plan, this piece of work should start in September. Of course, I will keep you informed of progress.
