We are frequently asked all manner of bizarre questions but some crop up more frequently than others... here is our attempt to answer some of the most popular. |
Why are you called "The Jalapenos"?
No deep and meaningful reason, unfortunately. In the words of Status Quo, "it was just a good name and one that we all liked". |
Why do you wear THOSE shirts?
Because we are fashion icons! And, of course, we're proud to be loud, shirts included! |
Did you used to be Engine?
No. Only one of us, the illustrious Diamond Dave, was a member of that legendary band. Charlie and Martyn deny all involvement.

Why has Charlie's guitar got a hole in it?
You'd really have to ask Francis Rossi. Charlie plays a Fender Telecaster Francis Rossi signature guitar, and extensive research as regards the hole has been inconclusive. |
Why can't I get "Red Hot" and "Tear It Up!
Both CDs sold out, but there is a fine compilation of the best of both albums: "Proud To Be Loud!" available on CDR.
Hawkwind fans need not worry - both tracks from "Tear It Up!" starring Nik Turner are present and correct.

Contrary to what people may think the Jalapenos are not related to one another in any way despite all being so devilishly handsome. |
Why don't you play weddings, birthdays etc?
There are a multitude of reasons, but the plain and simple fact is that we just DON'T. It's somewhat akin to asking why the sky is blue, or why a tiger has stripes. PLEASE don't ask us to make exceptions, you'll only make yourself look silly. Go ask a tiger instead... |
