From the bottom of our hearts...

There are countless people who have helped the Jalapenos in one way or another over the years but here are a couple we just have to mention (if only because the photos are so good!)

Nik Turner

The legendary (and we really mean it) Nik Turner's sax playing on the Tear It Up album really made an impression on Jalapeno followers. Many seemed unaware of Nik's rock'n'roll and indeed jazz history outside of Hawkwind and Space Ritual and have been literally blown away by his sound. We would just like to say thanks a million Nik from the boys with the fashion handicap.
The Jalapenos are obviously a big favourite of Nik's, too... a visit to the discography page of his fabulous website, www.nikturner.com includes only one album cover... "Tear It Up!"
Cheers Nik, we love ya!

Mean motorcycle - nice guy...

The Jalaps would like to send out a big thank you to their friend John for rushing to their aid with his van on more than one occasion while the Jalapeno's own bus has been in for repair. He is seen here astride a Sunbeam - pretty much the same as the one described in the Loquisimo! track "Mean Motorcycle". Cheers John.

Dave Anderson

Without whom we would not have such a fantastic studio to record in... Dave is the owner and operator of the truly marvellous Foel Studio (visit www.foelstudio.co.uk ) and is a first class bass player, producer and songwriter. Cheers, Dave!

(Dave is pictured here with the Thunder Rider during his years with Space Ritual)

Raise your glasses...

A huge thank you to Di who presented the Jalaps with a shot glass each, painstakingly engraved all round with chillies and proudly displaying their name and the band name. We'll drink to that! (I'm trying to get a half decent picture of one with my not very decent camara - watch this space)

Getting Shirty...

A big thank you to Tony for bringing a stunning set of orange/black skull motif shirts back from Menorca (the jewel of the Balearics) for the Jalaps (the jewels of the fashion world). How did he get them through customs? Also a fine set of spicey Hawaiian shirts (straight from Hawaii!) was presented to us by our mate Ian. It's good (very, very good) to know that the Jalaps will never need to perform topless!

On the Tele...

Charlie would like to say an enormous thank you to our friend Mark for lending him his rather super chrome scratchplated Telecaster, "Black Beauty", while Charlie's main squeeze was being put back together by the local scrapyard recently. It takes a brave (or very optimistic) person to lend a fine musical instrument to a Jalapeno! Mark has seen the boys often enough to know the hammering that their gear receives on a nightly basis, but amazingly Charlie managed to return it one piece. Mark - we salute your bravery!

Let them eat cake

A big finger-lickin' thank you to Ian's gang. They're constantly surprising us with the things they bring to Jalaps shows, like turning up in gorilla masks and "Go Ape" T-shirts. Now they have presented the boys with a custom made cake. Looks like the days of the skinny Jalapenos may be at an end!
