Where can I buy Loquisimo?
 | 3DDiscs have been negotiating with some retailers in the areas where the Jalaps play so if you are too shy to approach the band (or should that read 'too sensible') you can walk into one of the following shops and say "please sir (or madam), please furnish me with the latest musical recording by that fine beat combo The Jalapenos, here is my cash/credit card/debit card/loaded revolver". The shop person will then hand over a shiny, shrink wrapped copy of Loquisimo! for you to take home and do what you will with.

What's on the CD
Loquisimo has 16 tracks, all written by the boys themselves (their artistry doesn't stop at their choice of shirts!). Over half the tracks are included at one time or another into the live sets and I'm sure that more will follow.
The track list is:
1. Jump start
2. Good lookin' trouble
3. Three days on the beer
4. Movin' and shakin'
5. Bad tattoo
6. I wear leather
7. A bit of strange
8. Wandering eye
9. Accused
10. Out to hunch
11. Lucifer Syd
12. Mean motorcycle
13. Keshi head
14. Keeping music live (is killing me)
15. I caught you lookin'
16. Lanterne rouge

So what's that song supposed to be about?
It has been noticed by the band that thay are often approached with the same questions about their songs, usually what they are about. Things like "Keeping music live" and "Caught you looking" are pretty obvious but some of the others, though perfectly clear in the Jalapeno Brain might seem a little obscure to anyone with better fashion sense. In this little section an attempt will be made to answer some of these questions, and if you have any others why not ask them in the guest book or message pages and we will try and put you straight. OK - here goes, in no particular order:
Keshi Head - what's a Keshi Head? This is the name given to anyone addicted to watching that fine and injury strewn Japanese game show Takeshis Castle which is frequently screened by Challenge TV (contact your Sky or Cable dealer and tell them we sent you). There are web sites devoted to this show giving you more information than you could possibly want.
Lucifer Syd - OK it's an instrumental but why that name? Legendary rock innovator and acid casualty Syd Barrett, founder of The Pink Floyd wrote a song for their first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, about a witches black cat - the song was called Lucifer Sam. The main guitar riff from this has been "borrowed" and greatly speeded up to create this blistering instrumental. The name is simply a combination of the original song title and it's author - the Jalaps always like to give credit where it's due.
Three days on the Beer - is this true? Yes.
Out to Hunch - Please sir I don't understand the title - Oh, while I remember, I don't understand many of the lyrics either. This song is a tribute to one of rock'n'roll's true wildmen, Hasil Adkins, affectionately known as The Haze. He lives in a polka dot painted trailer out in Boone County USA and for decades has produced the most stripped down, gut rock'n'roll. It's mostly just him and his old guitar, stomping his feet and wailing like a banshee. It's not to everyone's taste, it's probably not to many peoples taste but the Jalaps just revel in the energy. The lyrics in this song (including the title which is his expression for a very tender and moving activity engaged in by a loving and committed couple) are mostly things taken from Adkins' own songs and reconnected to create a story about him. Charlie actually phoned him up and asked his permission to record this number and he readily agreed. Keep on rockin' Haze! * It is with the greatest regret that we must announce that Hasil tragically passed away on 25th April 2005. A true legend, he walked it like he talked it and remained rockin' til the end. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. We'll miss you, Haze!
A Bit of Strange - Strange title, strange chorus? This one seems fairly clear but maybe it's a local kind of expression. As the Jalaps hail from LA (that's the Liverpool Area) it's a common term for extra-marital activity. Enough said.
Movin' and Shakin' - What the */#* is a "syncopated missionary"? - I'm very sorry but I have absolutely no idea, it's just one of those T Rex kind of lines I suppose.
Lanterne Rouge - This instrumental is dedicated to Marco Pantani (1970 - 2004). Sempre Pirata!!!
