Northenden Players Theatre Club

For a new look version of this website go to the link below.

Northenden Players Theatre Club (NPTC) is based in Northenden, Greater Manchester and has been in existence for over 60 years. The Players have been in their current location for over 40 years.

The Theatre, which is in an outhouse of the Tatton Arms on the banks of the River Mersey, seats only 57 and has no wings - the dressing rooms are above the stage. However six plays are performed here each season from September to May with each play put on for seven nights - Sunday to Saturday.

There is a large membership with two thirds of available seats being taken by Season Ticket Holders.

The Auditorium

The photo above shows the seating in the auditorium. The theatre only holds 57 seats which many of our audience feel is part of the experience of watching a play at Northenden. They are so close to the stage that they feel part of the action.
This can work against the actors in some cases when whispered comments such as "Doesn't she dress well - for a big woman" can be picked up on stage.
