The club's Cheshire set
 | Don't forget to get the new edition of 'Cheshire Life' as I've heard rumours that Arthur is going to be in it. I believe he is going to be talking about village life, poetry and which flowers to pick for summer.
Next week, Nethers as centrefold in Horse and Hounds

Team's Playboy Axed
In scenes reminiscent of the Beckham/Ferguson row, Arthur was sensationally axed from the Saturday's match.
Rumour has it that Nick is not happy with Arthur's show-business lifestyle and the appearance in Cheshire Life was the straw that broke the camels back.
Reports have come in that the team's Peter Stringfellow has promised to curb his playboy ways and this should lead him to retaining his place for the away game at Winsford.

A Runcorn bridge too far
For Saturday’s game, quite expectantly, high-flying Runcorn when they won the toss put the home side into bat. With Peter Maher brought in for Arthur (see above news story), the batting looked strong on paper all the way down to number three.
With a rash shot, Nethers was out for a nought in the second over and like his son, Tourette, he now faces a hat-trick of ducks at the away game on Winsford.
Blandy and Baby Fox soon followed and with the team at 26 for 3, things looked grim for the Dirty Whites.
However, with Oliver, who was dropped from the first team, and The Chair coming together at the crease, they steadied the ship and moved the score on to a reasonable total of 97.
The only other highlights of the innings were SLP been given out LBW by Quick-Draw McGraw and Night-Maher batting for his longest inning. I know he only faced his usual one ball but he did take his time walking out to the middle.
With Peter ‘The artist formerly known as Leo’ Sundve, Herbert McAllister and Martin Naylor bowling well, Runcorn made hard work in their innings of chasing the total. Only helped by some poor fielding from & (as Peter would like now to be known as), a couple of dropped catches and a young kid with a bat that was all edge and no middle did Runcorn eventually manage to achieve the total.
The Port 97 all out Runcorn 98 for 6
