Message from our chairman

The SIA Merseyside Group is a self-help support group, providing mutual help for its members. It was formed in 1995 as a Local Group under the rules and regulations set down by The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA). Its purpose is to provide help for its members and promote awareness and understanding of the causes and consequences of spinal cord injury in the general public. Its members offer help to the local Spinal Injury Centres in Southport and Oswestry.

We, the Group members, consist of both able bodied and spinal cord injured. Our regular activities are our monthly meetings, fundraising and campaigns to improve health care, access to local buildings and events and social functions.

If you live in the Merseyside area and you would like to know more about our work, or perhaps become a member, please feel free to come and join us. We meet at 3.00pm on the first Wednesday of the month at:

Glaxo Neurological Centre
Norton Street
Liverpool
L3 8LR
Tel: 0151 298 2999

Chairman - J.W.

The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is a national charity which offers support to individuals and their families should they become paralysed. Some of the goals of the SIA include campaigning for improved medical care and promoting awareness and understanding of the causes and consequences of spinal cord injury.
