Warrington Churches’ Consultative Forum Back in 1995, when Warrington Borough was preparing for unitary status, it was clear that the Warrington churches needed to co-ordinate their activities better. The town's Anglican and Roman Catholic congregations are divided into two dioceses by the River Mersey, and the town's Free Churches look either towards Merseyside or Cheshire for their respective authorities. So was born the Warrington Churches' Consultative Forum, facilitating a channel of communication between the 100 or so Christian congregations within the town, and liaison between them, the Borough and other authorities. The following church listing is comprehensive and will be maintained and updated as regularly as possible. The 'borough liaison officer' for the WCCF, who may be contacted about this listing or other matters relating to the churches and Christian agencies of Warrington, is the Rev Stephen Kingsnorth.
Merseyside & Region Churches’ Ecumenical assembly (MARCEA) The ecumenical body serving the Merseyside area is MARCEA, and the Methodist church plays an active part in that body. The Mission relates to MARCEA as it is part of the Liverpool District in Methodist terms. The Cheshire equivalent is Churches Together in Cheshire.
Mission in the Economy Warrington — MitE The Mission ministry plays its part in the business of MitE which seeks to relate Warrington's economic issues to the church… The Minister serves on the MitE Warrington council (representing the Free Church tradition) and is vice Chair of MitE Liverpool, its “parent” body.
