Mens Singles
Defending Champion Jonathan Taylor saved 2 match points in the final against Gary Watson as he came from behind to win 5-11 4-11 15-13 11-5 11-3. In The semi-finals Jonathan beat John Goodall 11-9 11-4 11-7 . Gary Watson overcame Steve Nicholls 13-11 11-9 11-3.In the quarters Steve beat Mick Tierney in straight games. In the group stages Phil Evans
from Division 3 surprisingly put out Bill Lowe from Division 1, Bagavant Shivkumar from the 3rd also beat a 1st Div
Player in Dave Spiller. Dave did take an end off Steve Nicholls 22-20.
Ladies Singles
Gemma LLoyd also retained the title following a 11-9 11-5 11-8 win over Stephanie Howard.
Gemma Lloyd beat Annabelle Sorrentino in 4 games in her semi –final and Stephanie Howard beat number 2 seed Maitreyi Shivkumar .
Stephanie came from behind to win 9-11 6-11 11-8 11-9 13-11. Gemma had previously topped her group over
Stephanie Howard, Megan Green and Uma Shivkumar. Megan had come from 2 games down to beat Uma on her
closed debut. Maitreyi had won her group with Annabelle second. Maitreyi came from 2 games down to beat
Ann Dakin 12-10 in the fifth.
Mens Doubles
Rob Wylie Jnr emulated his father by partnering Jonathan Taylor to doubles success.They beat Gary Watson and Mick Tierney 5-11 11-8 11-9 11-7.
Chris Hatton and Steve Nicholls narrowly losing 11-7 in the fifth to Rob and Jonathan in the semi,
Ladies Doubles
This was played as a round robin. The triumphant pair being Gemma Lloyd and Maitreyi Shivkumar.
Stephanie Howard and Ann Dakin pipped the Sorrentino Sisters Annabelle and Susi 11-8 in the fifth to claim
runners up. This was a repeat of last season with the same pairs finishing 1st and 2nd in the same order.
Mixed Doubles
Jonathan Taylor and Gemma LLoyd also retained the title with a 4 game triumph over Mike Ashton and Ann Dakin.
Mike Ashton and Ann Dakin had reached the final beating Dave Harse and stephanie Howard 11-6 in the decisive
fifth game. Jonathan and Gemma had
overcome Bill Lowe and Annabelle Sorrentino in the other semi-final.
Veterans Singles
Rob Wylie Snr was another who defended the crown they had won lasy year as he came from behind to beat Gary Watson 8-11 5-11 11-8 11-9 11-7
Rob knocked out Ann Dakin in the q-final and Dave Harse in the semi-final. Gary earlier triumphing over Mike Ashton
and Mick Tierney.
Junior Singles
Steve Nicholls took his 1st ever junior title thanks to a 11-8 11-8 11-6 win over Chris Hatton.Chris Hatton reached the final by beating top seed Maitreyi Shivkumar 8 –11 11-9 11-2 11-9.
In the quarter he beat John Simcox in the fifth. Stephen Nicholls reached his 2nd consecutive Junior final beating
Jake Bayliff in the other semi-final.
Cadet Singles
This was a repeat of Last year with Stephen Nicholls winning again 11-7 11-7 11-4 over Chris Hatton.Tom Hill and John Simcox were the losing semi-finalists.
Under 13 Singles
Tom Hill beat Matthew Clewett 11-2 11-8 11-8 in the final. Tom had beaten Josha Matthewman in his semi-final
while Matthew beat David Eckl.
Div 2 Singles
Chris Hatton showed his potential and fighting spirit as he came from behind to beat Annabelle Sorrentino
6-11 9-11 11-8 11-6 11-7 in the final. In the semi-finals Chris beat Susi Sorrentino And Annabelle beat John Simcox.
Div 3 Singles
Xaio Collins beat the top seed Tom Hill 12-10 9-11 9-11 12-10 11-4 in the final.
Xaio also gaining revenge for an earlier defeat in the cadets. The number 2 seed Bagavant Shivkumar surprisingly
beaten by Andy Legge in 4 earlier in the day. Xaio had beaten Jake Bayliff, Andy Legge and Paul Gatward on his
route to the final.
Hardbat Singles
Jonathan Taylor beat Mick Tierney 21-12 21-6 in the final. Jonathan had earlier ended the chances
Of Nigel Hobro and Mike Ashton. Mick previously conquering John Goodall and Dave Harse.

Mens Singles
Defending Champion Mal McEvoy from NBCC won this for a record 9th time.He beat Gary Watson from Eswa in the final.The scores were 11-9 12-10 11-9 . Mal gaining revenge for defeat in the Veterans Final earlier in the night.In Previous rounds Mal had knocked out Gavin Lloyd and Jonathan Taylor. Gary beat Mick Tierney in the semi and Bob Hughes in the quarters.
Ladies Singles Clare Peers from wirral Premier took the title for a 3rd year in succession after a round robin. The runners up spot was claimed by Stephanie Howard from NBCC who beat Ann Dakin, Maitreyi Shivkumar and Helen hollyoak.Maitreyi was the only player to win an end off Clare.Ann came from 2-1 down to beat Maitreyi. Mens Doubles Mal McEvoy won again this year but with a new partner in Bob Hughes .They triumphed in a tight 5 setter with Mick Tierney and Gary Watson.Gary and Mick won the opener 11-8 but Mal and Bob took the next couple 11-5 11-9. Gary and Mick levelled matters in the fourth but lost 11-4 in the decider.The losing semi-finalists were Jonathan Taylor and Rob Wylie plus Paul Banks and Gavin LLOyd. Mixed Doubles
Clare Peers had a different partner for the 3rd year on the trot as Jonathan Taylor became the latest to help Clare win the title. They beat Paul Banks in his 2nd final of the day and Stephanie Howard Who got a 2nd runners up medal of the day.the scores were 11-8 11-6 11-6

This was a combined Boys and girls event this year and Jonathan Taylor retained the title against his club colleague Maitreyi Shivkumar in her 1st Wirral Closed Final. Jonathan winning 11-6 7-11 11-3 11-4.Maitreyi beat Chris Weir in the semi while Jonathan beat Josh McTaggart. Jonathan winning the title for the 3rd year on the trot.
Under 13 Singles
Stephen Broad won this event again as he got the better of Steve Nicholls 9-11 11-8 8-11 11-9 11-3. Chris Hatton lost to Steve while Stephen Beat Alex stewart in the semis.
Division 2 Singles
Paul Banks (NBCC) beat Chris Weir (Wirral Premier TTC) 11-5 12-10 5-11 13-1Division 3 Singles
Steve Nicholls (Calday GS) beat Stan Wilkinson (Pinewood) 10-12 11-8 12-10 11-4 Steve had knocked Frank Sorrentino out at the semi-final stage.
Cadet Singles
Steve Nicholls (Calday GS) beat Josh McTaggart (Spinners) in the only major upset Of the day . Steve Won 11-5 5-11 20-18 7-11 11-6. The Marathon 3rd game was crucial as Steve Always kept his nose in front.
Hardbat Singles
Jonathan Taylor completed a double success on finals night after beating Mick Tierney in the hard bat singles. 11-8 11-9 12-10. In the semis Jonathan knocked out Mike Ashton while Mick beat Rob Wylie.

Ladies Doubles Gemma Lloyd and Maitreyi Shivkumar won roun robin with Ann Dakin & Stephanie Howard runners up.
Mixed Doubles Gemma Lloyd and Jonathan Taylor won a round robin with Stephanie Howard and Dave Harse 2nd.
