In our mission to support and empower carers we are planning to develop ADVOCARE as a comprehensive network of support which is flexible - everyone's situation is different - and which can be tailored to meet the individual carer's needs.
Offering for example
Information - on carers' issues including their rights; access to expert advice and guidance on services, equipment, entitlements and small-scale financial help.
Support - for example befriending; own-home respite; sitting service; transport.
Advocacy - for example 'moral' support at review and assessment meetings.
Confidence-building - for present carers and for those whose caring role has recently ended.
