Ye Olde George Inn

Ye Olde George Inn, originally the George & Dragon coaching inn, can lay claim to being the oldest hostelry in Christchurch. The earliest reference to it is dated 1630. Although it is not a medieval building, it is situated on the crossroads that was at the heart of the Saxon burgh, and this was quite possibly the location of the marketplace.
