Events Programme 2007/2008

The Christchurch Local History Society meets at the Christchurch Junior School, Clarendon Road, Christchurch on the first Tuesday in each month from September to May. The January meeting is on the second Tuesday.

A nominal entrance fee is charged; members £1.00 and non-members £2.00. All meetings start promptly at 7:30 p.m. and usually last c. 2 hours. Events in green text are day-time ones, not held at the Junior School.

A talk by the ever-popular Nick Griffiths at the Christchurch Junior School, 7:30 pm.

Tuesday, 25th September 2007 - Visit to Verwood Heritage Centre

Our Programme Secretary, Sally Bowers, has arranged a visit to the Verwood Heritage Centre. The visit will start at 2:30 p.m. A charge of £3 will be made for entrance, but this includes tea and cake! Also included; a historical walk around the village. Please contact Sally on 01202 569253 to book your place.

Saturday, 19th April 2008 - Coffee Morning at the Mayor's Parlour, High Street, Christchurch

Meet other members and promote CLHS activities. 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Mayor's Parlour, High Street, Christchurch.

Tuesday, (To Be Confirmed) May 2008 - Members Evening

A chance for members to discuss their own interests and show their collections to members. This year David Eels will give a short talk on the history of the post box, to be followed by a look at members' interests. At the Christchurch Junior School 7:30 pm.

Tuesday, 22nd May 2008 - Annual General Meeting

The AGM of the Society will be held at Christchurch Junior School at 7.15 for 7.30 p.m. This will be an opportunity for Members to meet and hear about projects that the Society is involved in and its plans for the future. For seating and catering purposes, please let us know if you will be attending by contacting the Society c/o Christchurch Library, High Street, Christchurch, BH23 1AW.
