New Breed of Rock School Heading to Bournemouth
 | NEW BREED OF ROCK SCHOOL HEADING TO BOURNEMOUTH
A new and exciting way of learning music is about to decend on Bournemouth.
February 2007 will see the first Bournemouth Branches of Clive’s Easylearn Pop Music Schools opening in Charminster and Talbot Village.
The weekly classes will offer students a very easy and fun way to learn the guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals. The sessions will see students mixing and jamming together from the very first lesson.
As part of a UK wide Franchise, Clive’s Music also has 60 other sites across England and Ireland and over the past 25 years, has successfully taught over 8000 students. Franchisee Dave Phillips (27) is sure that the concept will take off in Bournemouth and he already has plans to open more in the surrounding areas.
“When it comes down to it…Kid Wanna Rock!!!” says Dave.”They want their music lessons to be fun and exciting and that’s exactly what we offer. We’ve done away with the traditional approach of teaching music. Kids don’t want to sit playing scales for hours on end. They want to whack it up to 11 and play Kaiser Chiefs and Green Day riffs. They want to learn fast, and they want to learn fun.”
“Our classes aren’t just for kids either. We also teach adults. It’s never too late to learn. My step father has just picked up a guitar and I’m teaching him how to play Smoke on the Water. He’s 65!!!”
Dave will also be looking to give local musicians an opportunity to supplement their income by becoming tutors in his schools. He says “Why would a Guitar player or Drummer want to park trolleys for minimum wage and minimum gratitude? They can get involved in the community, pass on their talent and passion and have fun at the same time… all for £7 an hour!”
