Foggy's Revenge - A 25 Mile Charity Challenge Walk
As a memorial to Pete 'Foggy' Carpenter who lost his battle with cancer in May 2001 the Dorset Long Distance Walking Association group held a winter challenge walk on the 10th of February 2002. The route starting from Pimperne Village Hall took in a variety of terrain including Hod Hill and Hambledon Hill and was graced with excellent weather condiotions for the time of year.
The 78 participants included a number who had been sponsered notably Foggy's daughters, Zoe & Esta Carpenter , family friends and a number of nurses from the Thoracic Medicine department at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Its understood that provided all the sponsors pay up over £4,000 will be donated to the Bournemouth Chest Diseases Charitable Trust. This charity provides assistance with the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases such as asthma and lung cancer. The Trust is a supporter of the Thoracic Medicine department at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital where Foggy was treated during his illness.

The Dorset LDWA are planning to run Foggy's Revenge again on the 9th of February 2003.
