Telephone Buddies
Telephone Buddies
The Telephone Buddies service is a service provided by members of The Pituitary Foundation for both fellow patients and carers.
Telephone Buddies are patients, carers and endocrine professionals who have chosen to help others in a similar situation, and have trained to do this effectively. We always try to match the telephone buddy to the caller's needs so that they will be in a position to understand your situation as you may never have been understood before.
A telephone buddy will:
listen to what you want to say (and really hear you).
give you information or tell you places where you can look to find information. help you consider the options available and the likely outcomes.
support you in planning your next steps.
be there if you want to call back again.
As well as having telephone buddies willing to talk about a wide range of pituitary conditions and the impact that these have had on areas of their lives, there are telephone buddies who specifically want to help those who are involved with pituitary patients but are not themselves patients. So parent or partner, friend or relative, you can still phone a friend.
