World Aids Day 2007 in Bournemouth
Bournemouth put on a great weekend of entertainment for World Aids Day this December. World Aids Day is an internationally marked date that is designed to raise awareness of HIV and Aids. While some see the disease as a "gay problem", Aids is a virus that doesn't discriminate. In fact, recent figures for Dorset have shown 61% of diagnosed cases were passed on through heterosexual sex.
To help raise awareness in Bournemouth, the staff from Over The Rainbow and Healthy Gay Hampshire were out in force over the World Aids Day weekend handing out condoms and an excellent free CD. The CD, with mixes by top DJ Adrian Dunbar, was available in The Xchange, Branksome and Bent and proved hugely popular.
The Branksome put on a great show including a great line up of Nicollette Street, Miss Jason, Diane James, Cassie, Sally Vate and the Flame Fire Show. |
