Events, Field Trips, Workshops, Newsletter
The Dorset Geologists' Association Group is an enthusiastic group of all levels of expertise from absolute beginners to full blown profs. Their common interest is geology, and while members travel the globe looking at rocks, their chief interest is the geology of Dorset. We have a 2-monthly newsletter, an annual Fair, several workshops and, of course, field trips all year round. Membership for all this is £10.00 a year and most events etc are free as is the, usually 12 page (sometimes more), newsletter. We have a website which also includes details of the several years of our existence in the Archives. We produced a book of geological walks to celebrate our 10 years of existence to 2003 which has 28 walks from 17 authors, mostly coastal and inland Dorset and a few from the surrounding counties. The book is called Coast and Country: geological walks in Dorset. The printed version is sold out. A CD is available with the walks in A4 format, easy to print out copies to use as individuals or for group outings. Cost for the CD is £5.00. Contact for the CD is heldon47@btinternet.com
