Bournemouth Wildlife Survey(BoWLS)
Recently the Dorset Wildlife Trust set up an Urban Wildlife Centre. The project is to encourage residents of the Poole /Bournemouth/Christchurch Conurbation to better appreciate the range of wildlife within the borough boundaries-even in our own back gardens and local open spaces. A joint project is being launched to survey all the greenspaces in Bournemouth. The spaces have now been plotted electronically, so it should be possible for groups and individuals to record their sightings to form an important record. Those caring for open spaces will realise how valuable a database of such information can be in protecting these spaces.
