Friends of Kinson Common

The Friends of Kinson Common were formed in 1999 when two dog walkers became concerned about the anti-social behaviour such as arson and illegal motor cycling on site which was a threat to both the wildlife habitat and residents and visitors who used and enjoyed the Common.
A petition of 300 names was collected and presented to the local MP and as a result an excellent working relationship has been built with Bournemouth Borough Council, Dorset Police, Dorset Fire and Rescue, Urban Heaths Partnership and many others in the partnership which have ensured many of these problems now rarely occur.
