Site details:
Size: 45 hectares
Grid Ref: SZ 061 948
Designation:
Whole site is Local Nature Reserve ( since 1996) and Public Open Space. The main heathland areas are Sites of Special Scientific Interest (part of same SSSI as Kinson Common), these areas are also designated as Special Protection Areas ( SPA) under the European Birds Directive 1979, Special Areas of Conservation(SAC) under the Habitats Directive of 1992 and Ramsar sites.
There is also a small area of Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI).
Managed for conservation since 1988.

Notice board
 | | A very informative notice board is situated at the main entrance in Turbary Park Avenue. |

Grazing
 | | Exmoor ponies now graze the site and are joined by Shetland cattle in the winter months. |

New noticeboard
 | | This superb noticeboard can be found at the Downey Close entrance. It was obtained by funding from the Local Inititiave Fund. |

Mark's leaving gift
 | On the 24th May we sadly said goodbye to Mark Miller, Chief Countryside Officer for Bournemouth Borough Council. We wish him all the best in his new position with Eastleigh Borough Council.
