Reserves battle for well deserved draw
With the first team not playing, all the supporters were at Parley to watch our reserves play Parley reserve side. In a very entertaining game it was a battle of Socials youth against Parleys experience. Despite chances for both teams it remained 0-0 at half time. Parley made the breakthrough on the hour mark with a well worked goal that Tim, our keeper, stood no chance stopping. As we pressed forward, looking for an equalizer, Tony and Russell at the back sometimes found themselves under pressure from the counter attack, but they held firm, despite Tony getting hit by the ball where you don't like to get hit by the ball! Attack after attack was broken down by the Parley defence and time was ticking away until Leigh BP was put thro' and made no mistake putting the ball in the back of the net in the last minute of the game. A draw was a fair result for both teams.
Man of match Tony Burton.
