Blaenau Gwent in Bloom 2004

Abertillery Comprehensive School are proud to announce that the school have won this years Blaenau Gwent in Bloom garden competition.
We have worked very hard this year to give the judges more items to see and also improve the gardens to allow the children to learn more things in pleasant surroundings. Many items have been added this year which include 3 mosaic planters designed by year 10 pupils alongside our resident artist Edwina.These are on show in our Art Garden where we have our own vineyard. Ten hanging baskets where made by year 10 Applied Science class during their biology lessons to help them learn about soil types and growing conditions.
A lot of hard work has been done this year to get the gardens ready for this competition and upgrade the gardens from last year.

The science technicians worked hard updating and altering the gardens ready for the summer and the judges where very impressed by the overall schools image. Thanks to everyone who helped and we are proud to win three years in a row.
