End of season.
So we've finally reached the end of what can be considered quite a successful season for both the firsts and youth. The firsts finished 4th in division 5 east in their first season there and the youth managed their most successful year since gettiing together three years ago, and it would have been an even bigger success had the standard of referees not been as bad as Daniel Reilly's kicking. Firstly i'd like to comment on the progress made by the vast majority of the youth team this year, i think most people involved with the club will agree that there has been a great improvement by a good number of youth players which has been shown through training and matches respectively. I hope that all the youth players who stay with the club and move on to playing for the seniors can continue to develop and improve as we have done this year. Back to the season that has just passed the firsts played 20 games, winning 13 and losing 7, scoring 530 points on the way and conceding 306 and finishing the season with 39 points, only 6 points behind 2nd placed Nantyglo. The youth played 9 games, won 3 and lost 6, losing by more than 10 points only twice, scoring a season total of 110 points and conceding 164 which was heavily contributed to by a 57-0 loss to Pill Harriers shortly after the departure of a number of key players to university. Last but not least i'd like to make a swift comment on the recent tour of Prague. I think everyone involved will agree tour was a great success with only minor incidents of trouble such as the ghosting by Murphy and Draper's bowel movements whilst in confined spaces such as trams and lifts.
