'Ameirgin the Gael' is the name of the branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoirri Eireann (CCE) that has been started at the Irish Club, Commercial rd, Newport. A committee has been formed from those musicians, dancers and enthusiasts that regularly attend the monthly music sessions at the Club. These sesions, on the 1st Friday of every month, are hosted by top local band 'Gan Ainm' and are open to all.
CCE is a non-religious, non-political organisation that promotes the Irish cultural traditions of music, language and dance (ceili and set). Although CCE has branches worldwide, with many in England and Scotland, we are at present the only Welsh branch. |
