Baptist Union of Wales Assembly 2007
Upper Trosnant Baptist Church will be hosting the Annual Assembly of the Baptist Union of Wales (English-speaking) on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th 2007. The guest preacher is Dr. John Davis of Southbourne. Dr. Davis has been a missionary with the Overseas Missionary Fellowship in Thailand for many years. Since his return to the U.K., he has been an elder at Lansdowne Baptist Church, Bournemouth and a tutor at Moorlands Bible College, whilst retaining strong links with Thailand. We are also hosting a church choir from Village Baptisy Church, Destin,Florida. They will feature in all the services open to all members of the public. Those services are 9.15am and 7pm on Friday, the 8th and 9am and 6.30pm on Saturday, the 9th. The Rev. Richard Harrison will be inducted as President on Friday at the 7pm service, and will preach. At all other services, Dr. Davis will be the preacher.
The choir will remain with us in Pontypool until Friday June 15th.
On Sunday they will lead the services at our church at 11am and 4pm; There will be an open air service (God willing ) in the bandstand of Pontypool Park at 7.30pm to which everybody is invited
On Monday the 11th, the choir will sing in Bethel Baptist Church, Holywell, Flintshire at 7pm.
On Tuesday the 12th, they will sing in Neyland Baptist Church, Pembrokeshire.
On Wednesday,the 13th they will sing at Nant Gwyn Baptist Church, Radnorshire at 7pm.
On Thursday the choir will sing at Pisgah Baptist Church, Talywain in the Eastern Valley of Gwent at 7pm.
The church is currently having a huge face lift. The graveyard is being converted into a car park, the hall is having a new roof and being re-cladded, a new kitchen is being equipped, disabled access ramps are being installed and toilets adapted.
