Why do people volunteer?

Volunteering is a great way to get into your ideal job, but it's also a good way to try something new.

If you want a change but aren't sure what you want to do, working as a volunteer can give you a chance to try something completely different. The good thing is, you can do this alongside your normal job. It's a great way to try something new!

Why should you volunteer?

There are lots of good reasons for volunteering but here are a few:

gain experience and learn new skills

get satisfaction from making a difference to people’s lives

try out different types of work - it might lead to a paid job!

meet new people

get access to training opportunities, possibly with a qualification at the end

have something really positive to put on your CV

prove you’re a well rounded person

make a contribution to your community.
