The Mission of Age Concern Winchester
“To promote the welfare of older people within a 15 mile radius of Winchester Guildhall. We aim to improve their quality of life by offering services that will give practical help, advice, regular care service, mental stimulation etc., in an attempt to combat social isolation and exclusion.
Age Concern Winchester’s services act as a much-needed staging post between isolation of the elderly in their own homes and full day care. We also provide a vital information link to the councils in gaining the views and concerns of the elderly in this area.”Age Concern Winchester provides the following Services
4 Lunch Clubs a week at various venues in Winchester providing a hot balanced meal and social interaction.
Chiropody service for those who no longer qualify for this care from Social Services.
Help in the Home Scheme providing light domestic cleaning and shopping enabling the frail older persons to remain in their own homes.
Social events for the older person in Winchester offering the opportunity to go on outings and holidays.
Take A Break Scheme offering carers of older people in Winchester the opportunity to have a break free of charge.
