The next - and final for the 2007/2008 Season - recital is to be given by KATHERINE DIENES (Guildford Cathedral) on Tuesday 6 May 2008 commencing at 8.00 pm. This is a very special occasion because Katherine was the first woman to be appointed to the most senior music post in Church of England Cathedrals when she was assumed the post of Organist and Master of the Choristers Guildford Cathedral in Jan 2008.
The 2007/2008 Season of Organ Concerts (our 41st year) includes a superb line up of some of the top national and international organists.
Details of future Organists their respective programmes and biographies are displayed on this website which is regularly updated to reflect changes. The concerts are performed at St Lawrence Parish Church, Church Street, ALTON, Hampshire, England starting at 8.00 pm. Alton is just off the A31 between Farnham (Surrey) and Winchester (Hampshire) and there is ample parking space close to the Church. Alton railway station (about15 minutes walk to the Church) is just over one hour's journey from Waterloo station, London.
Admission to each Organ Concert is £8.00 (including programme) at the door or you can take out season (see 2008/2009 Programme) membership at £50.00 that is equivalent to £6.25 for each of the eight concerts (or eight concerts for the price of six!).
