Basingstoke Jujitsu Club

The style of Mizu Ryu Ju Jitsu has been taught in Basingstoke since 1994 and was created on the traditional teachings given to Shihan Anthony J. Bailey. Ju Jitsu traditionally contains the techniques of Punches, Kicks, Throws, Holds, Chokes, Strangles, Locks, Pressure Points and some Weapons.
Mizu Ryu Ju Jitsu is a combination of traditional and modern Ju Jitsu techniques and has been used and proved in the ring, in the cage at cage fighting events and in the real world of the nightclub/pub industry.

It can be used as a fun and effective self defence for children, teaching them discipline and the need to develop a helpful nature towards others and continues to teach some of the most effective as well as some of the oldest forms of Ju Jitsu. Adults utilize the full range of technique, as opposed to children who for safety reasons are not allowed to use locks and other submission techniques.

Ju Jitsu has undergone many changes over its 2,000 years of documented history, but it is still known as the 'mother art' as it has given birth to some of the most famous Martial Art forrms; such as AIKIDO, WADO RYU KARATE and Kodokan JUDO.
Shihan Anthony has been studying Martial Arts for 31 years, has taught in countries around the world and is a lifetime member of the Kodokan Institute in Tokyo. He has reached Black Belt in Jujitsu, Judo, Aikido, Kickboxing, Aikijujitsu, Weapons, Pressure Point Fighting and Combat Jitsu and as such is one of the most respected Masters in the country.
